As long as you mind the aforementioned caveats and totally commit yourself to learning proper, real world japanese, anime can be a helpful tool as opposed to a distraction. why you should learn japanese with anime. really, it ain’t all bad! anime has a lot to offer any budding japanese student.. I’ve been known in the past to say you can’t learn japanese from anime… and that’s still quite true. the amount of people out there who watch thousands of hours of (admittedly addicting) anime under the pretense that they’re “learning” japanese is startling.. I've been watching anime for 2 years now, and the only things i've learnt are the odd word. i think watching anime will help if you are allready learning japanese, as it will help you with the pronunciation etc..
Best answer: it will be hard because sometimes or most of the time in the anime, the characters will talk low in an extent that you can hardly hear them. if you have the subtitles on and you are reading them, plus you already learned the word in japanese you'll have a good shot at guessing what they're saying..
